After 25 years of business, David Gravino, owner of Iggy's Doughboys & Chowder House listened to many customer requests to have a full service sit-down version of the Clam Shack in Oakland Beach. Iggy's Boardwalk Lobster and Clam Bar is just that. A full-service cozy version of the iconic Iggy's Chowder House. Le Central is a French bistro, focusing on modern interpretations of classic dishes featuring local products from Sakonnet Lobsters, Four Town Farm (Seekonk, MA), Walker's Farm (Barrington, RI), Scott the Bassman, and Little Rhody Eggs (Foster, RI). Low lighting, checkerboard floor tiling, glass tabletops, and French nu-Jazz provide an intimate yet warm and familiar atmosphere. Chef-owner Jesse James spent his early career in Boston, working with chefs Moncef Meddeb at L'Espalier and Jasper White at Jasper's, with further experience at other landmark restaurants in New York, France, and Italy. Le Central is the third restaurant he has designed, built, and operated, after Aperto (Est 1992) and Boca Rotis (Est 1997), both in San Francisco. The large painting by Inez Storer on the south wall of the restaurant (which also serves as our logo) is of Jesse's son, Sam (the current General Manager & Beverage Director), and his childhood dog, Skye. Inez wouldn't say who the guy in the chair is.

    We love Iron Works! It’s consistently great! The buffalo dip, the burgers, the salads and the chocolate cake… all favorites. The whole team is always accommodating about a gluten allergy and they all go above and beyond to be sure everything is safe. And Lena!!! She is a seriously one of the best servers EVER! Looking forward to our next visit!

    First time at the Shanty for brunch, and I can say I very much enjoyed it. Our server, Mike, was awesome, and the food was very good. Very nice menu. Will definitely come back and try dinner selections.

    Last night was the best Valentine’s Day I have ever had! The ambiance at Basta was incredible. The amount of care and attention that went into the decor was second to none! The roses hanging from the ceiling was stunning! Now, let’s talk about the meal, four course prefixed menu for two people and only 150.00!! Are you kidding? The choices were fantastic and the plates came out of the kitchen looking like masterpieces . I had the pistachio encrusted cod with beet gnocchi, fantastic! My guy had flank steak over mashed with vegetables, the meat was cooked beautifully. Our wait staff Alex took great care of us! Can’t wait to go back!
