Café Sbisa, established in 1899 and the third oldest fine-dining establishment in the French Quarter, is proud to re-open under the direction of a new team to once again offer the highest quality French-Creole cuisine in a welcoming, historical setting that both locals and tourists will appreciate. Spearheading the new Café Sbisa are Mr. Craig Napoli, who successfully ran the notable restaurant from 1992 - 2005 when Hurricane Katrina devastated the city, and Chef Alfred Singleton, who met Craig when he started working for him at the former Café Sbisa as a prep cook. Now, the unique venue will once again open its doors to serve classic local fare like Turtle Soup, Louisiana Blue Crab Cakes and BBQ Shrimp using the freshest, locally-sourced seafood and produce. While many restaurants tout “fresh and local”, Sbisa means it, as the Napoli family owns their own seafood dock and distribution business in Hopedale, Louisiana.

The second time is the charm! Everything was awesome!Food was delicious, waitress was awesome, ambience nice, noise level low. I was a little upset the first time we went in December 2024. It was a party of six. The waitress kept disappearing in action. When we asked for more bread between the six of us ,she said we would be charged for each additional bread. When my husband ask for an additional 2 tablespoon container of tartar sauce,to go with his catfish platter. he was told it would be an additional 50cents per container….really on over a $400.00 bill, you are going to nickel and dime us on bread and tartar sauce..outrageous!!!Then to top it off the menu says no more than 3 credit cards per table, the waitress refused to split the bill into 3 payments, she said only 2 cards accepted ,we had to Zelle money between us to pay with only 2 cards ,which was aggravating as hell and let’s not forget the upcharge for using a credit card!!! Lesson here, don’t go with a large group, or tell everyone to bring cash! Dining for 2 was a much more pleasant experience.Once again food is awesome!

We have been visiting restaurants for months and most visits have been mediocre to say the least. Born and raised in New Orleans, unless you visit the known , hidden gems, finding a different place to dine can be hit or miss. We have known about Cafe Sbisa since forever. I’ve tried it once, but couldn’t enjoy the experience for reasons (not at the fault of the restaurant, but at the fault of personal work related reasons) but I vowed to visit again when my husband and I had time. I am so angry we waited so long to visit this gem of a restaurant! The food was absolutely delicious. The service was top notch. The live band made the experience so special and memorable. After the first bite, we were hooked! And it takes a lot for my husband to give credit to restaurants. This restaurant made the top 3 of his list. Kudos to me for booking this long awaited dining experience . I’m mad at myself for being a local and not returning sooner!! We are in anticipation of returning. I haven’t stopped talking about this restaurant since visiting!!

Service was wonderful from the moment we stepped in. The check-in guy was great! Food was melt-in-your-mouth good, and the atmosphere was spot-on. This was our first time and can’t wait to return.
