Jerk at Nite, founded by Denville Myrie, Jr. in 2012, began as a solution to the lack of late-night food options at Howard University. After seeing his peers struggle with unhealthy fast food, Denville, raised in a Jamaican household, started delivering flavorful jerk chicken and other Jamaican dishes from his dorm. What began as a small campus venture evolved into a food truck business in 2015, and later, a brick-and-mortar restaurant. The menu features healthy fusion dishes, such as jerk chicken, oxtail, and jamming’ salmon, free of MSG and preservatives. Now with multiple locations, including in D.C. and Baltimore, Jerk at Nite continues to grow and serves the community with a focus on quality and flavor.

Curated by Aaron Taylor, Atlas Restaurant Group’s Corporate Chef & Chef Partner in this concept, the menu puts steak in the spotlight with over 11 cuts from Chicago-based meat purveyor Meats by Linz.     Although they were out of the popular items we came for ( goat, Snapper, lamb chops) our alternatives were delicious. Nautica our waitress was gracious and provided excellent customer service. The place has a great vibe, nice decorated with African and Carribean flare. I'll be back

    Christmas Day was made very special by Sotto Sopra. From the ambiance of this beautifully decorated 1850 building, to the wonderful staff, each with a smile to greet and serve you. But the food; that was the star of the day! The calamari was exceptional and definitely not you mama's calamari! It's a must have. And the goat cheese salad, amazing! The seafood pasta was loaded with lobster, crab and shrimp, and swirled in a luxurious sauce. The pork shank with risotto was very tasty and very filling. We ordered the the bread pudding and cheesecake to go as we were so full after our meal, and will have it this morning with our coffee. I just know both will be a great start to the day. Thanks to Sotto Sopra for making our Christmas day so special.

    This is a perfect spot for dinner before a Hippodrome show. We told the waitstaff we had tickets and they made sure to get us out in time for the show! Excellent service and surprisingly good food for a hotel restaurant. We will dine here again.
