- HHeleneNewcastle and Northumberland •1 review5.0Dined 3 days agoGreeted and taken to our table upstairs. The restaurant even at 12:50 was very busy. Lovely cozy clean vibe busy with staff who were very attentive. We were shortly over to a better table by the window which was also a little larger. I had a voucher for my birthday. Don’t know how they knew, but they gave me a glass of champers which was so kind. We both went for the Sunday roasts, both cooked beautifully but unfortunately were on the tepid side (we like our gravy steaming) so it chilled the food a little. I also had a pear and almond pudding with extra hot (I asked) custard, Devine. We would definitely recommend this Bistro, prices were moderate also. Cant fault the service. Looking forward to going back.More infoThe Broad CharePrice: Expensive• British• Newcastle upon Tyne•4.8

- RRonnieNewcastle and Northumberland •1 review5.0Dined 5 days agoEasily the best dining experience in Newcastle. This is a gem of a place which is a must for dining. There is a set menu for those on a budget which is outstanding quality and choice. Or if you are in the mood for more the a la carte is a great option. The selection of dishes are seasonally based and cater for all diets - you will not be disappointed. Service and ambience are a delight and as soon as you walk in you are made to feel welcome and important. We are not from Newcastle but every time we visit (this is now our third dining experience) we make a point of going here and will definitely return.More infoBlackfriars RestaurantPrice: Expensive• British• Newcastle upon Tyne•4.6
- SSarahNewcastle and Northumberland •1 review5.0Dined 6 days agoAdore this restaurant. We have been 3 times now, we live down in London, or else it would be so much more regular. Ted, one of the servers, remembered us (it’s been almost a year) and was so wonderful throughout the evening. Super attentive, positive and professional. So was T with our bookings. In fact all the staff are lovely and have been there since we first started coming, says a lot about the management. Food is divine, quintessentially French and tastes delicious. The Duck and Beef Bourguignon are my favorite! The music is French, which makes a huge boost to the ambiance and authenticity. If you asked me to name a negative….all it would be is that it is located too far from us to be able to be regulars. Highly recommend The French Quarter any day of the week!More infoThe French QuarterPrice: Expensive• French• Newcastle upon Tyne•4.8
