Restaurants near Blue Hen Farm

My husband was very happy with his meal but I thought mine was blah. Possibly the least tasty meal I’ve ever had there. Since my husband was the birthday boy, I’m happy that he enjoyed his. My meal wasn’t bad, just not really good. And that is the standard I’m accustomed to at Caffe Gelato.

A friend and I thoroughly enjoyed our first visit to Vita Nova. It was a little tricky to find, and parking on any college campus is always fraught, but now that we know the particulars, we'll definitely return. We had reservations for lunch, which is a buffet with not only the basic soup, salad, protein, but also an amazing variety of vegetable sides. Lastly, a wonderful array of mini desserts allowed us to sample several. We especially loved the chicken tagine and the lemon pudding! Service was outstanding - from the hosts who greeted us at the door to our sever to the manager who checked up on us during our meal. All the personnel are students and they've learned well. The space has a relaxing ambience. The chairs are particularly comfortable. And the price was extremely reasonable! We can't go back again this semester, as there are no reservations left, but we'll be some of the first to sign up for the next semester.

Great food and drinks and one of our favorite places for lunch; however, we always find the room temperature to be a bit cool and uncomfortable.

Made a reservation for Saturday night. We arrived 15 minutes early but were seated promptly at a booth as requested. There was a large group in their private room, and several large parties throughout the dining room. Our server, Erin, greeted us promptly and took our orders. She then brought us fresh sourdough bread and waters while waiting for our bar drinks. We ordered an Aperol spritz and Brio martini (dirty) from the bar. For our meals we ordered chopped salads (not on the menu anymore but still our favorite), Spaghetti Pomodoro and Chicken and Spinach Fettuccine Alfredo. Because of the large number of people in the restaurant we expected to wait longer than usual for our food and drinks. After our salads were served Erin stopped by every few minutes to keep us informed on the status of our meal. A few minutes later our drinks arrived. Both were expertly prepared and very tasty. There was a longer delay than usual between receiving our salads and the our entrees, but it was not excessive. The entire staff displayed great teamwork, helping each other and bringing food and drinks to all of the tables. Our entrees were perfectly prepared and delicious! We ordered items that we’ve eaten several times before, and the quality and taste of the preparations was the same as when the restaurant was far less crowded. Kudos to the kitchen for sending out consistent quality and taste across the board! We had a great meal with great service despite the crowds. Can’t wait for our next visit!
