The Red Maple was originally owned and operated by the Trauth Family, a German-American family of restaurateurs spanning 100 years in Gretna. And what began in 1963 continues to this day, holding to its German roots through its rustic Alpine lodge decor, extensive beer selection and annual Oktoberfest celebration. In fact, it was a red maple tree in the side yard that inspired the name of the bar – The Red Maple – with the restaurant being added in 1965.Now for over 50 years, The Red Maple has been the rendezvous spot for West Bank movers and shakers known for its Prime cut steaks, New Orleans favorites and fresh Louisiana seafood.Today, under the passionate guidance of Proprietor Brent Trauth and his sister, Carroll Gales, The Red Maple continues to deliver on its reputation for delicious food, exceptional service and rich Louisiana history. A rich and storied past that is only upstaged by the dining experience itself.

Such a lovely dinner at Antoine’s. Enjoyed sitting in the lovely large Annex room and viewing the Christmas tree. Excellent attentive service by Silas and TJ, my water glass never ran dry and I never had to pour my own wine. Silas gave me some great menu suggestions to help create a very nice dinner. I look forward to returning again soon.

When booking with OpenTable, we weren't able to get a reservation until 815. We are from Eastern standard time so we're quite hungry. We stopped in at 5:30 to see if we could change our reservation and they were able to change it to 630. So polite and accommodating from the first moment. The service was exquisite, so friendly and happy. I wish I had gotten the waitress's name. And everyone was happily accommodating when my daughter wanted her steak cooked a little bit more. My lobster was fantastic. Perfectly cooked. Just wish it had been bigger. Overall worthy expense and fun to go to old historic restaurant.

We love this place. Every time we come to NOLA this is one of our must dine place. Dennis was our server and he made us feel like VIPs. The food is alway amazing so you can’t go wrong with anything they have on the menu. The lobster dumplings are a must experience. The biscuits are alway delectable. I encourage if you are in NOLA add this to your itinerary.
