Restaurants near Brentsville Historic District

I’m coeliac, so a problem customer and our waitress was new. My medium steak was very well done, the asparagus was barely cooked and cold and the mash had a worrying ingredient. The salad was okay but when I was informed the ice cream had gluten it triggered an investigation, The manager pulled up the info and no gluten, zanthum gum does not have gluten. So a disjointed meal that could have been much better. We’ve had superb meals there previously. Not up to snuff tonight.

My second review of Carmello’s in less than a month, Carmello’s is a great restaurant whether for a special occasion or otherwise. This time it was to celebrate my daughter’s 21st birthday. Again, the food selection was excellent and the quality was first rate. My wife and daughter got Filet Mignon, and I got the Pork Shank; and both were delicious. The pork shank serving is large enough for two meals and I like my leftovers. The cocktails were great, my daughter got a Cookies and Cream Martini, and I partook in a couple Old Fashion Christmas’, both first rate as well. Carmello’s even gave us a complimentary Crème Brulee with a lit candle, my daughter loved it. This time Danny was our waiter, and he was on his game with fantastic service. Also, Danny was able to snag the last slice of Limoncello cake to include with our desserts and coffees, many thanks. Needless to say, we had a great dining experience and evening.

Jack did a great job. Food was its normal great taste and up to standard. Setting was great.

All staff were quite attentive from being seated at table with full disclosure of the room, selection of food items with preferences and the signature beverage, Titanic. The the apples, and fruit chutney made the perfect Brie appetizer . The oysters were prepared to allow full flavor over romaine lettuce. The Smash burger, truffle fries and chicken Waldorf salad did not disappoint. The server Jojo provided conversation appropriate to present food without gaps in time. Jojo checked in constantly to see if food items needed to be added or removed. Great personality from Reservationist, Server and Bar staff!

We loved everything! The food was great. Service was a little off but it’s what we were expecting since it was Valentine’s Day. We’ll be back again!
