Wonderful meal, well-timed and attentive service. We enjoyed two delicious new menu items: a venison chop over potato-chorizo hash and a middle-eastern braised lamb shank with cous cous. We always have a great experience here!

Oh. My. God. This place has EVERYTHING. If you find yourself in Peru, Vermont—and I mean, why wouldn’t you? It’s the hottest small town tucked away in the mountains—you need to check out JJ Hapgood General Store & Eatery, the crown jewel of rustic chic vibes. This place has: •Wood-fired pizza so good it makes you question all your life choices. •Artisanal cocktails served in glasses that somehow make you feel like you’re starring in a Hallmark movie. •A cozy fire pit out back for those “I just came in from hiking but also I’m here for the small-town magic” moments. •A porch packed with locals who all look like they know how to build a barn but also probably have an MFA. •And the characters—oh, the characters. There’s: •Flannel-clad Brandon, who’s always “just stopping in for a coffee” but stays for three hours. •Jessica with the dog, who orders her pup a side of bacon (and no one judges her). •And Devon, who tells stories that may or may not be ghost lore but are absolutely mesmerizing. The food? Amazing. The vibe? Immaculate. The vibe while eating the food? Next level. Whether you’re devouring a pizza or sipping on something infused with elderflower, JJ Hapgood makes you feel like you’re part of the town. For one night, you’re not just a visitor; you’re a Vermonter who knows all about sugaring season and what time the plow goes by. JJ Hapgood isn’t just a tavern. It’s a lifestyle. It’s a vibe. The food was fabulous! Loved all the vegetables cooked to perfection. The drinks were great. Service was wonderful. We had such a great time throughout the whole dinner. And to top it off, Pearl's treated us to dessert to celebrate two birthdays in our group. We'll be back!
