Welcome to Sugar Boat - a relaxed & informal neighbourhood bistro in the heart of the town on Colquhoun Square, a stones throw from the sea front. There was no heating on in restaurant and with wide open space and white decor, it was very cold to sit in. Our waiter was obviously new and slammed plates in front of us and didn't advise of specials. That said food was lovely - would I go back - yes I probably would (with a big wooly jumper though).

We were celebrating my daughter's 13th birthday and it was made a very special night by all the staff. They were welcoming and friendly and attentive to our every need. They ensured my daughter was looked after and suitable embarrassed her when they sang happy birthday! The food was delicious - portion size was good and generous. Couldn't fault the evening - will definitely be back.

Lovely cosy restaurant. Sat in one of their booths and it felt cosy and private. Good food choices and top marks for providing gluten free options. The food was very tasty and the staff were friendly and helpful.
