Some friends got married on short notice after thirty years together so we impulsively invited them to a celebratory dinner on short notice. It was also a third guests birthday. On the drop down menu, we called it a "special occaision" but to get special attention such as what my husband and I have enjoyed for our own anniversary last month, I should have chosen anniversary or birthday. Nonetheless, the service and food were excellent. The booth for five very comfortably seated us for light conversation with a view of the river for four out of five. From time to time some other guests were rather loud, but overall, for most of our meal, the noise level was low enough to converse in inside voices. In December, Salty's offered a reward for buying gift cards. I did so and highly recommend the ease with which I redeemed the rewards for our anniversary and used a good chunk of the gift card for this evening's dinner.

Service was impeccable, wait time for everything was low and my girlfriend and i really felt like the staff went out their way to make our Valentine’s Day dinner special. Drinks were absolutely stellar, the Jell-O shots are always worth it and a great way to start the night. I got a drink with seaweed and whiskey that I was a little apprehensive to try because it sounded weird but it was one of our favorite flavors of the night. The roti and blistered tomato curry are what dreams are made of, and the beef tartare is NOT to be missed! Gado Gado is one of the best spots in town and the rice table is so much you will keep thinking about it for a while.

We had a really memorable dinner with our 12 year old daughter who loved the pizza. The menu variety offered something for everyone. The preparation of the gnocchi (2 large rather than the smaller finger-sized) was a neat and delicious twist and the skirt steak was cooked perfectly. Our server had spot-on wine recommendations that paired nicely with our meals. Excited for a return visit.

We are long time fans of Laurelhurst market, but don’t go as often as we used to since we moved to NE. We had dinner on a Monday night specifically to order the cassoulet special. What an amazing decision! The cassoulet was made with sausage, duck confit, and bacon. Each meat was delicious and the beans were spectacular. The portion was huge. I shared some with my husband and still had enough for lunch today. This is now one of my all time favorite meals in Portland. Service is always great!
