Chef Nicholas Stefanelli approaches hosting guests in his restaurant as more of a lifestyle than a profession, taking the pretense out of fine dining in favor of heartfelt hospitality and honest cooking. Featuring an open-air courtyard with relaxed seating, a covered pergola seating area, and an indoor sala with a view of the seafoam green-tiled open kitchen, Masseria, brings together the rustic but welcoming aesthetic of an Italian country estate, the industrial grit of the Union Market district. Masseria features two dining experiences, a special 8-course Chef's Tasting Menu at our Chef's table, and Chef's counter. And our 6-course La Cucina Menu at our Bar, Sala, and Pergola.

They have had since 1856 to perfect the art of service. They have not wasted a bit of that time. We had a server and he was fantastic. With that, the entire brigade worked as a fantastic machine and supported the goal of quick and perfect service for the guest. I have never had apps arrive so quickly at a restaurant before. I even threw another order in while ordering our main course and it was on the table 2 minutes later. The quality of the food is top notch as well. The roast beef sandwich had a bit of bite on it that was unexpected but definitely not unappreciated. As I was dinning with my 13 year old son tonight, I also appreciated the non alcoholic options on the drink menu. It was great to have a delicious option that wasn't a soda. Overall, this is a MUST for any visit to DC.

This is a really happy place - good food, lively conversations going on all around, good service - and the price is very fair. The location is nicely situated on a fairly busy corner with beautiful windows overlooking downtown DC.

5 Stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ From start to finish, our experience at Cordelia Fishbar was fantastic! The service was top-notch—from the warm welcome by the host to the attentive and knowledgeable server who took the time to explain menu options in detail, making it easier for us to decide. The food was absolutely excellent. We started with the oysters, which were incredibly fresh, followed by the sea bream with black garlic sauce—perfectly cooked and full of flavor. The mushrooms and jacket potato were delicious sides that complemented the meal beautifully. The drinks were also a highlight—well-crafted and flavorful. Overall, a wonderful dining experience, and I highly recommend Cordelia Fishbar to anyone looking for great seafood, excellent service, and a welcoming atmosphere! Will definitely be back.

Love visiting Lucy Mercer, I always feel welcome when I’m there! The vibes were great but the only problem was the music and the volume. I was told the owner/manager was the DJ and the music selections definitely didn’t fit the vibe of the evening. Also it was incredibly loud and I could barely hear the people I came with which led to everyone in the bar screaming over each other which made the experience a lot less enjoyable than my previous visits. I highly recommend they hire a DJ or have a curated playlist playing at an enjoyable level. Other than that the service was great!
