- JJohnNewcastle and Northumberland •3 reviews4.0Dined 2 days agoStopped here for Sunday lunch...which was excellent. Service was slow but that was because of a lack of staff in my opinion. It did not spoil the meal though. The beef was beautifully cooked along with large helpings of veg. Lovely pub in a nice location.More infoDuke of Wellington InnPrice: Expensive• Gastro Pub• Newton•4.6

- LLindaNewcastle and Northumberland •2 reviews5.0Dined 7 days agoThe food was excellent as was the house red and white wine. The fish soup was smooth and tasty . The soufflé never disappoints!!! My main was a beautiful lemon sole on the bone cooked to perfection. A new dessert was the orange soufflé which was so light and fresh. We felt so special. It was my husband’s birthday and we were so happy to be there. Exquisite service. This is a world beater restaurant!!!!!!!!More info21Price: Expensive• British• Newcastle upon Tyne•4.8
- JJacquelineCumbria •1 review5.0Dined on 30 Jan 2025I went with a friend to celebrate her 70th birthday that was in December, the staff made us very welcome, we both had the fish pie with vegetables which was lovely then the chocolate and orange cheesecake and ice cream, my friend had fruit crumble and custard, I asked the staff to put a candle in her pudding which they did and sang happy birthday to her, it really made her day special, a memory she won’t forget of a special day, the puddings were delicious too, all in all a great experience coming here, the staff and food were excellent, I’ll definitely be back again 😊More infoThe Boatside InnPrice: Moderate• British• Hexham•4.9
- CCarolNewcastle and Northumberland •7 reviews5.0Dined on 29 Jan 2025As always, the food here is outstanding. We had the lunchtime set menu, and don’t know how they can provide such high quality at such an affordable price. The service is friendly and efficient, it’s a lovely place to sit in, and it never disappoints. Today we had the butternut squash crumble to start; a generous portion to warm up a cold day, and the gravadlax which was delicious. Then we both had the pork, in a rich sauce with smooth potato purée and leeks, and ordered some extra vegetables on the side. Everything was perfect. As it’s such great value we had to have desserts: crème au chocolat with cinnamon beignets, and iced parfait with red wine prunes. The whole meal felt balanced, satisfying without being too heavy, and everything had flavour, texture and attractive presentation. We will, of course, be back.More infoBouchon Bistrot - HexhamPrice: Expensive• French• Newcastle upon Tyne•4.9
