- RRICHARDBedfordshire •2 reviews4.0Dined 3 days agoWent for mid-week pre-Christmas lunch, meeting relatives half-way between our respective homes. Warmly welcomed on arrival and well attended from the word 'go'. We were a party of 5 adults and 3 had pre-ordered the Festive menu with the others choosing from the standard menu on arrival. The food arrived promptly and was delicious and well portioned. Our waitress allowed a sufficient (and much needed!) gap between the main and dessert courses which emphasised the relaxed atmosphere and we never felt that we were being rushed, or hurried along. The restaurant was reasonably busy, so there was an agreeably gentle buzz and the background music was not at all intrusive. All in all a really enjoyable experience ... good food in a lovely setting with relaxed but quietly efficient and friendly service. Highly recommended.More infoThe Fox at BarringtonPrice: Moderate• Pub• Burford•4.6

- KKathryn or KatieDorset •2 reviews5.0Dined on 6 Dec 2024For a classy but friendly treat I recommend the Ox Barn for lunch out. The set menu is creative and service is nicely paced - not too slow - efficient but relaxed. All the wait-staff were charming (in a good way!). The decor and facilities are contemporary and spotless, with comfy sofas for relaxing while waiting for a friend or after the meal. There is plenty of parking. Google Maps unfortunately took me to the far end of the estate within the village of Southcrop, rather than through the pastures on the other side of the farm/estate. And on both visits I found it difficult to find. Signs for THYME in the village are tasteful but too discreet, if you don't know that you should be looking for them! Met my brother here halfway between my home in Stroud and his near Didcot.More infoThe Ox BarnPrice: Very Expensive• British• Lechlade•4.7
