Since 1746, the building that houses this tavern has played a part in the establishment of our nation; first as a respite for stagecoach travelers expanding westward and later as a covert rendezvous point for George Washington, Marquis de Lafayette, and other leaders of the American revolution. It is believed that during the infamous winter of 1777–1778 at Valley Forge, a major figure in the Continental Army, master military mind Friedrich Von Steuben, designated the tavern as a secret black powder munitions stash for Continental Army couriers. All the while, the tavern continued to provide food, shelter and cheer to the hungry, weary soldiers fighting for their independence. Today, we honor our historic tavern’s tradition with a mission to raise the spirits of our guests.     Waitress was great (Ina - sorry for spelling). She was very attentive, friendly, and helpful. Food was good but not as good as we expected. I got the turtle soup and the Beef Wellington, which was good but this is their specialty and I’ve had better. My wife had the salmon and it could have been hotter. The ambiance is exceptional - very elegant dining room and view out the window was lovely.

    We went for my boyfriends Birthday to Flemings Steakhouse on Tomahawk Tuesday. The Tomahawk Steak for 2 was cooked to perfection. We had a loaded baked potato and creamed spinach along with Chopped Salad. We had Olive oil cake and a Brownie for dessert. Our waiter was fantastic and everything was delicious. Thank you for the perfect evening.

    Our bartender and waitress Madison was a joy. Our dinner choices were fantastic and the drinks she made were incredible. She made the best espresso martini ever. This is my new favorite place. Please bring back the deviled eggs
