The Black Bull Inn, Moffat is an independently owned, award winning Scottish hostelry, established 1568. The oldest hostelry in the area, the Inn is well known for its links to Robert Burns, Scotland’s National Poet who visited during his heyday. The Black Bull is also connected to another notable character from history – the controversial Earl (Bonnie) of Dundee, who commandeered the Black Bull as HQ in the 17th century and oversaw the persecution of Scottish Presbyterians from within its walls. A great well maintained bedroom, clean as a pin, well serviced with a great shower. All you need in a room especially when it is so tastefully decorated and comfortable. The staff were very warm and welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. The food in the evening was fantastic! All in all a great overnight stay that we highly recommend.

The Globe in has various rooms for eating in - we were in the ground floor bar and it was lovely. The Open Table booking site makes things very confusing - better to just contact the restaurant.

Haggis Scotch egg, Smash burger, Beef featherblade, Mars bar baked Alaska and Banoffee waffle. Scocth Egg was delicious not to spicy Beef fearherblade was lovely melt in mouth Couldn't go to Back Street Restaurant without try Baked Alaska it was truly delicious. All washed down with Mayfly white wine, all went down a treat. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend and will hopefully be back .
