Restaurants near Farmington Bottoms State Natural Area

My husband and I had lunch at Baldamar for the first time. We were very impressed with the professionalism of the staff! Our server was friendly and knew the menu inside and out. My husband loved his prime rib sandwich! I enjoyed the harvest salad and sweet potato fries. The chipotle aioli that accompanied the fries was also very flavorful. We ordered the brussel sprouts based on our server’s recommendation and they were also very tasty and crispy. We appreciated the attention to detail in the way the cocktails were served in quality glassware with nice garnishes. The menu has a great variety overall but I’d have loved to see a few more vegetarian entree options. Something heartier than soup or salad.. The overall ambiance of the restaurant is great.. definitely upscale vibe and the menu prices reflect that. Definitely a great restaurant for a date night or dinner with friends! However, due to higher prices on menu items we’d save Baldamar for special occasions.

Our waitress, Diane, took great care of us. We shared the duck "eggs" a la orange appetizer. It was wonderful. One of us had the sunnies, and one of us had the parmesan crusted swordfish. Both of these fish entrees were so fresh and tasty. Diane recommended the signature desert, which was a pecan pie crust filled with caramel and deliciousness, topped with chocolate. We highly recommend the Lake Elmo Inn, and especially Diane!

We had a wonderful brunch on New Year’s Day, our server was so friendly and the Eggs Benedict and Walleye Hashbrowns that we chose from the menu were both excellent. We love Hell’s Kitchen for the festive ambiance during the Holidays and the food and service have always been great when we’ve come no matter what time of year!

The four of us had exceptional food. The portions are extremely large. My husband and I shared the pork chop dinner and felt satisfied with just having half the meal and adding either a soup or a salad. The dessert portions are also huge, definitely a share size dessert. Our waitress was very attentive and friendly. The atmosphere is kind of loud. This is not a cheap restaurant but very good food and you get what you paid for.
