Umi Sake House is a unique Japanese cuisine restaurant in the Belltown area of Seattle featuring the highest quality seafood available in the Northwest, a large izakaya-style tapas menu, and boasting a sake list of over 60 imported Japanese bottles.     The bar and food service can be quite slow. From the time we ordered our drinks it took 20 minutes to get them to us. From the time we ordered our food (and the first course was a salad) it took 30 min. to get the salad. This is the second time I've been there and the service and delivery of items is slow paced - even when the restaurant doesn't seem that busy.

    Superb, as usual. The carrot sformato was an unusual find and quite delicious. The addition of olives to the blood orange and fennel salad hit just the right acid note, Mama’s meatballs were pure beef with a strong dash of anise seed, and the accompanying marinara had been simmering for ages to pick up that deep complexity of flavors and great balance between sweet and slightly acid.

    We (family of 4 adults) ate brunch here the midmorning after Christmas and really enjoyed our meal. The food was very good, the service was attentive and courteous and the ambiance excellent. We lingered over our meal for almost 2 hours and felt the staff didn’t try to rush us out. Highly recommended.

    I find the food in Seattle to be incredibly underwhelming so I was a bit leery about going to yet another restaurant in the city. I am glad I did because the food at Cutters was fantastic. This is the first restaurant I have ever been to in Seattle that I would actually go back to (and happily) The food, service, ambiance, and view are all terrific.
