34 is Chef Emeril Lagasse’s first restaurant dedicated to the cuisine of his Portuguese heritage. He was inspired by his late mother, Hilda, who influenced his interest in cooking when he was a child growing up in Fall River, MA. The 245-seat restaurant is adorned in shades of green – Emeril’s signature color – wood accents and ornate Portuguese tiles. A painting of a rooster, a national Portuguese symbol of good luck, greets guests at the entrance. Once inside, a jamon bar with countertop service and tile-clad DJ booth are focal points of the space. The restaurant celebrates not only the food and design of Portugal but also the sounds, with music from local and touring DJs.

Excellent service with incredibly knowledgeable asst somm, Britt, who suggested and offered pairings perfectly. We had tomato bread, olives, croquettas, mushrooms with truffle vinaigrette and egg yolk, salt cod bacalhau, shrimp San Miguel, paella(Spanish rice)…something else I can’t even recall and finished off with delish basque cheesecake and fortified wine…yum!!!!. Everything a hit and we felt really special on a post-snowy eve at the jamon bar learning more about one of the house specialties. Our server, Jada (?), was attentive and professional without being intrusive. A really fabulous addition to the nola dining scene and looking forward to returning. Delish Portuguese wines with notes about each adds a unique wine complement previously unavailable here. Highly recommended for a wonderful dining experience.

The entire dinner experience was a whole vibe! The food was delicious, the environment was so much fun and the decor was gorgeous. The staff was nice. The tacos de lengua were delicious but just wish it came with rice and beans. The guacamole was very good. Highly recommend this restaurant. Do not recommend the ceasar salad but do recommend everything else.

Fantastic! We sat is the covered outdoor area. It was warm, quiet and cozy- just perfect! Food was delicious! Favs were the kale and beet salad and the ricotta app. Three in my party were GF and loved the pasta and the separate oven for the pizzas. Would def recommend and go back!

The service and food was outstanding. I traveled with my daughter for my “traveling into 50” goal. This was my splurge meal in New Orleans and I was not disappointed! We both had the ribeye and then split the fries (plenty of food). Drinks were delicious and the dessert was out of this world. I decided to eat as many bread puddings as I could this trip and this was by far my favorite!
