Restaurants near Gorman Playground

Servers at the restaurant were great. So were the hostesses inside. Food and tea were delicious as always. The gal checking reservations at the entrance to the hotel to admit guests inside could use a refresher in customer service. How about welcome guests warmly with a smile? Say hello or good morning? Make eye contact? Literally anything other than the cold front she put on. Maybe she hates her job? For paying $500+ for tea time lunch you shouldn’t act like we’re inconveniencing you. She also didn’t offer the lift for my stroller and just watched us struggle carrying it up the stairs and no one grabbed the door to help. They stand on the stairs looking down on people trying to come inside like they’re better than everyone else. That part is odd.

If I could give my experience today, 10 stars, I would! Nicole was an amazing server. She was attentive, professional, and very kind. She made my delicious meal a wonderful experience. Additionally, management was personable and professional , and making sure everything ran very smoothly. This was one of my favorite dining experiences at Tavern on the Green. Thank you again Nicole for providing such an impeccable service!

The restaurant's location is unbeatable, with expansive windows framing Central Park. It feels as though the beauty of the park has been invited inside to complement the elegant, yet comfortable decor. The menu is outstanding and offers amazing cocktails. This restaurant is more than a dining spot—it's an experience. Perfect for a romantic dinner, celebratory brunch, or simply a treat for yourself, it checks every box. With its exceptional staff and unparalleled view of Central Park, it’s no wonder diners leave with full hearts and happy palates. Five stars, without question.

Incredible experience. Truly never short of a fun and delicious event. The chefs and sake boy really know how to engage with the crowd, provide excellent service, and deliver and unforgettable night. You leave so full and so happy that the hour just flies by. Already the 2nd time my friends and I have dined here because we couldn’t stop talking about the first time. I recommend it to everyone!!
