A short walk away from Kannai Station lies Le bistro Alpine, a rustic French diner and wine shop. Reminiscent of the French countryside, the venue features wood design elements, stucco walls and warm, subtle lighting. The head chef at Le bistro Alpine studied in France and served in a popular hotel restaurant for five years before returning home to Japan. With the use of local Kanagawa and Shonan ingredients, Le bistro Alpine offers a harmonious blend of Japanese and French flavors. One menu item, for example, is prepared with Yamayuri pork and is served with homemade pickles from Shonan, blending two cultures into one unique dish. One of Le bistro Alpine’s most requested specialties is the red wine beef stew. For this platter, the beef is marinated and stewed in red wine for over six hours before being prepared.
