My boyfriend and I dined here for my birthday, and I am so glad we chose to celebrate at La Barra. We both selected the 6 piece omakase. The chefs chose different dishes for us for each course, so we shared and were able to try everything. Standouts were the shrimp taco, fish tostada, and the coconut tamal, but all of the dishes were stunning. Watching the chefs work behind the counter added to the experience and the space itself is beautiful and intimate. This will be remembered as one of our favorite dining experiences, and a wonderful end to our stay in Merida.

What a fabulous experience this was. Chef Roberto Solis is at the top of his game. It’s very different flavors than what I am use to and I loved everything about this “new Yucatán cuisine” that Chef Solis is famous for. Much to my surprise, I even loved the Foie gras wrapped in chaya, chicken broth, brown butter and lime. This was my introduction to Yucatan food and I had the most wonderful food experience throughout the entire meal. I will definitely be back for Round 2! I’m pretty impressed by the recommendation that some of SMA’s chefs and restaurant owners gave me. Many told me that if I got to choose one restaurant in Merida this would be it! Everything I ate here was 5 star. And the service was wonderful too.

This is the best place to enjoy your breakfast in Merida. The service is so caring and proactive I loved how they take care of the guests, especially Mio, his eyes are everywhere and he is always taking care everything is fine. The food is absolutely delicious, very healthy and no cheap oil for cooking is used!!! My favorite side dish is the salad with blue cheese, such a nice and refreshing combination to the avocado bread. We went there nearly every day! Just an awesome experience, thanks Christian and team ;)
