- JJamieVancouver / British Columbia •20 reviews5.0Dined 2 days agoThis was probably one of the best lunches I have ever had the pleasure of enjoying. I have been to an Ivy restaurant before in Windsor on my last trip to the UK but I don't remember it being quite this good. The food was extraordinary, service impeccable, and because I was by myself, I was able to observe the staff and how they operate. It was so fascinating watching such a well-oiled machine. I used to work in hospitality and it was a delight to watch. Mimi was incredible and so wonderful to chat with, she even picked up that I was Canadian, not American. The dessert was to die for as well. The whole experience really made my day. Not to mention the decor of The Ivy is just incredible. Even the bathroom was amazing. Highly recommend this chain if you are ever in UK, they have many locations to choose from. Cheers.More infoThe Ivy on the SquarePrice: Expensive• Contemporary British• Old Town•4.4
- GGrahameEdinburgh/Midlothian •1 review5.0Dined on 1 Jan 2025Allanton Inn is outstanding in every respect: the welcome, quality of food, drink, service, atmosphere, friendliness...everything! Great that - unlike so many other local inns - it was open on New Year's Day.....a really special day for us too as it was my wife's birthday. On the several occasions we've been to Allanton in recent years (with friends too), we've never been disappointed. If you find yourself in the Scottish / English borders, within travelling distance of Allanton, and you want to partake of what their inn offers, as described above, honestly.....don't even consider going anywhere else! Yes, it really is that excellent.More infoAllanton InnPrice: Expensive• Scottish• Duns•4.9
