Restaurants near J Tawes Historical Museum

Terrific...as advertised! We've been at the Richmond restaurant and have loved it, so this was an added treat.

This place is great. Has an amazing view and the seating is very good as you have a bar area separate from the dining area and some very nice outdoor seating. Food is always great if it’s seafood or a burger. The biscuits are almost a desert and the crab cakes are my favorite on the shore.

Finally tried CBI last night and now have a new favorite restaurant on Chincoteague. The ambiance was polished and refined yet also relaxing and welcoming. It was a great value with five courses which were prepared exquisitely, and were as visually appealing as were delicious. We recalled the server from his time at another Island restaurant, who was super friendly, engaging, and attentive. Although there are several wonderful restaurants on the Island, CBI will now be our go to and recommended restaurant for date night, special occasions, or any time we look for a great dining experience.

With the exception of the gentleman at the checkin desk, everything about the restaurant was professional and first class. Our waitress was adorable, knowledgeable, and helpful. The food was delicious: short ribs, halibut, truffle risotto, pumpkin creme brulee, drinks, etc. The atmosphere was really nice with tables NOT crowded, easy to have a conversation, and lovely decor.

Scallops and shrimp entree was light (2/plate). Was expecting a few more scallops and/or shrimp on my plate, but quality was excellent. Other entrees I saw being brought to other tables were generous portions (chicken parm). Appetizer was very good. Complementary dessert for birthdays and anniversaries, which was unexpected and excellent. Very nice ambiance. If it had been warmer, we would have been able to enjoy our anniversary dinner with the plastic linings retracted. Many entree selections available from the menu. Will certainly visit again,
