- SSallyDenver / Colorado •9 reviews5.0Dined 1 day agoIf you're looking for a taste of authentic German cuisine in the picturesque town of Vail, then Alpenrose is an absolute must-visit. It was my best meal in Vail these past 4 days. The warm wood accents, exposed brick walls, and cozy fireplaces create a welcoming ambiance that's perfect for a relaxing meal coupled with great service.More infoAlpenrose VailPrice: Moderate• German• Vail•4.7
- MMatthewLas Vegas •1 review5.0Dined 1 day agoWe have been holidaying in vail since 1997. I have witnessed many changes. The evolution of a ski mountain to MTN. Restaurants have come and gone. Some are stayers and do not evolve. Sweet basil has evolved. Our family night was wonderful from the courteous front staff, to the knowledgeable service staff that were quietly efficient. The wine list was comprehensive. The food was the highlight. Appetizers such as Spanish octopus to tartare and bone marrow were a superb start. The entrées were a comprehensive menu ranging from pork duck fresh cod. The flavors were eclectic and memorable. I can highly recommend sweet basil as a must dine restaurant in Vale..More infoSweet Basil - VailPrice: Very Expensive• American• Vail•4.6
- MmikeNew York City •1 review5.0Dined 1 day agoGreat place in Vail village. Initially we were seated very close to the host stand. Made a request to move because it was so noisy and cold from the doors opening and closing. They accommodated us without question. Staff was very attentive throughout the entire meal. Water glasses never went empty. Always available for anything we needed. Staff was very helpful in explaining the menu and dishes. We chose to do a family style/shared meal. For four of us we ordered three appetizers, two first courses, and one entrée. This was plenty of food. Everything was great, but the burrata appetizer and the lamb entrée stood out as spectacular. We also shared two desserts and had a bottle of wine. All in cost was about $400 (including tip) which we felt was fairly good value for the quality of the meal and dining experience. There is a great speakeasy bar separate from the restaurant. Will come back and check that out on another day. Also, very cool arcade area available for all ages before 9 PM. Our kids are older, but this would’ve been a lifesaver when they were younger.More infoThe Restaurant at Chasing Rabbits VailPrice: Expensive• Mediterranean• Vail•4.6

The second gal liked the walleye, but thought a lot of breading. My chicken salad was good, but preferred last year’s preparation more. The apple pie was a surprise winner, as we weren’t sure about the addition of bacon.More infoMountain StandardPrice: Expensive• American• Vail•4.7
