Restaurants near Maison du Voyageur

This is one of the busiest restaurants in Ottawa but I was never willing to wait at the door for a table to be available since there are so many other restaurants around Lansdowne. However, I finally made a reservation to go and I see why the restaurant is so popular, even though prices are on the high side. Everyone at our table loved the food and the service was the best I’ve experienced in Ottawa for a while. Mia was so attentive. You have to try this place at least once.

We were three friends who have eaten at the Keg in Pointe Claire and have always enjoyed the food and the service is top notch. We always eat in the bar area. The only downside is that the prices are really starting to get beyond the average persons reach. We always try to attend during happy hour to take advantage of some of the bar area deals on food and drink.

Dinner menu was not really exciting and would benefit from an update. Breakfast buffet is great with fresh items and good choices. Nice dining area with some excellent staff who really enjoy their work. The gentlemen who served us at breakfast was so helpful and friendly and attentive. The gentlemen who served us dinner was not in a good mood, look bored and obviously did not want to be there. My wife had the beetroot salad which was very good and the trout which was dull and uninspiring. I had the onion soup which was warm not hot, had too much cheese and hardly any liquid. The black cod was topped with Brussel sprouts - a much better choice would have been fennel and leeks. The menu is over priced but again the overhead is high and they have a captive audience.

Delicious food, great presentation and lovely atmosphere! Prefer it to Aux Chantignoles.
