The Lexington is more than a restaurant, it’s an institution. Located on the corner of Lexington Parkway and Grand Avenue, this St. Paul community was the most fashionable at the turn of the 19th century. The St. Paul elite lived just blocks away and the first electric trolley brought visitors up and down Grand Avenue. The Lexington opened in 1935, after the end of prohibition, and was a popular neighborhood bar to gather and socialize. Previously operating as a speakeasy, the expansive wood panels were perfect for hiding a little booze and one can only imagine the shenanigans going on beyond the hidden staircase behind the coat check. I love this restaurant. I really appreciate the fact that they ask specifically what you're interested in and then they cook it to your liking and bring it out. Very attentive but not overwhelming. The salad bar is very inviting and beautiful too. This was my second time here and both times were a good experience 😁 I found it to be a bit chilly in the restaurant so dress accordingly. With that being said I still highly recommend Bullvino's

Thursday night dinner before show at the Xcel. For a Thursday night at 6, we were the only ones there. Food and service was good. Due to traffic to St. Paul, we ended up needing ti change from 5:30 to 6. Was able to order quick, and we had no issues to get to show in time.
