The food and experience at Church and Union is one of a kind. Our waiter, Kyle, was an incredible host as he guided us through courses of delicious food and drinks. Be weary of a later reservation as the restaurant has a live DJ starting around 10pm. Overall, a must go to while traveling through Charleston, SC!

There was a wide variety of meat selections and other side dishes on the bar. However certain meats were tougher than usual and lacked flavor. The wine was also very overpriced. A bottle that would cost you $13 at the store would run you $13 for a glass there. But overall we love Cowboys and what they have to offer definitely worth it. The waitress was very friendly and attentive.

Chelsean was a great server and took care of all our needs in Valentines Day which was very busy. She navigated outdoor tables and ours separate inside with ease! Thanks

We visited 843 bbq in 2020 when we were in Charleston. We had such a great first experience. We decided to return when we recently visited Charleston again for my husbands birthday. The food was still delicious, however, the portion sizes were extremely large. Normally I wouldn't 'complain' about such a thing, but there was so much food, and because it was AYCE, it was somewhat overwhelming. We didn't want to waste food, but it was simply too much. It also inhibited us from trying other meats/dishes, because we couldn't finish the previous order. The kimichi and sides were delicious. The waiter was friendly enough, but lacked hospitality skills. He didn't know how to engage with customers and didn't really help when we asked questions. He didn't clear the table in between courses, and we had to ask twice for refills of our water.

We were assuming we had a reservation since we were told to use the app to set one up. We arrived about 10 minutes early only to be met with another 30 minute wait. We ended up sitting at the bar where we were served. The bar tender on Christmas Day did a wonderful job. He was super busy with no help, serving customers at the bar as well as making drinks for other orders and doing all the dishes. The food my husband received was very good, my potato was not fully cooked. So in reality, we would give the bar tender a 10 but a lower score would definitely go to the restaurant for the food and not being prepared for a large crowd, especially since they were making reservations every 15 minutes for who knows how many people. Please don’t overbook and expect good reviews.
