Restaurants near Northam Memorial Chapel and Gallup Memorial Gateway

My wife and I took two friends out for dinner at Max downtown to celebrate my wife’s birthday. Our server, Abel,  was as good as they come. Our dinners were perfectly prepared: two shrimp dishes and two simply prepared salmon dishes. Max Downtown has earned its great reputation over a long period of time, a very difficult thing to do in a restaurant business. Everyone including owners, managers, chefs, servers and greeters are all pleasant. All in all, Max Downtown is always at the top of its game.

Our dinner at J Gilbert’s in Glastonbury was amazing! We enjoyed everything immensely in front of the warm fireplace. Our server chatted us up to ensure he got a good tip which he did indeed. However, after paying our bill he acted like he didn’t know us. He passed my husband several times while he waited for me from the restroom and no smile, no thanks again for coming, no nothing. J Gilbert’s should send him back to customer service training, especially for an upscale place like that. We will remember that next time we go in.

My husband and had a lovely experience. It was our first time dining at the capital grille. Our waitress Jayleen was such a sweetheart. She made the experience that much better.

Great service / waitress mindful of event timing Pork belly appetizer was amazing... Arugula salad with shrimp - sizable dinner portion . All very reasonably priced. Always our favorite stop before an event at XL Center - convenient parking right next door
