Restaurants near Northlandz Model Train Museum

It was a busy evening with a very large party the back room. A friend and I, never in a hurry, sipped and nibbled away on a very creative mushroom soup (one of their best soup offerings over the years). He enjoyed the freshly caught Tautog, and I, the duck entrée; a frequent choice of mine. Despite the number of diners, this preparation was really one of the best preparations that I've experienced, here. A great restaurant where a large numbers of diners have no affect on the chef's attention to each item.

Not all meats were offered. Our server came to our table once to check in and we started to dine in. We did not get our appetizer after 45 minutes. Would not come back to this location.

Exceptional food, Porterhosue was amazing I have been looking for a great steak house had tried many, service top notch wow! Only improvement I’d recommend is expanding your craft beer menu.

The server never offered me a second cocktail, and one of the managers was expediting the food, so when dinner arrived way before I had the time to finish my salad, he could see my displeasure, but I did not want him to take my dinner back. In many cases, the manager apologizes, and that’s it, so I did not really complain, and to my surprise, 5 minutes later, he walked over and apologized again and comped my salad. This unexpected attempt to maintain a pleasant customer experience was greatly appreciated and… thus, overall- outstanding!

Server Merve provided perfect service, knowledgeable of the menu and good at matching menu items with our taste and interest. The experience was delightful, food was excellent. Don’t forget to leave room for the chocolate moose cake! If you’re going to Char Stake House, do yourself a favor and ask to be seated in Merve’s section to ensure that you have the best possible experience Char can provide!
