Restaurants near Northside Plaza Shopping Center

The advertisement for steak and eggs for brunch got me thinking about trying this location. To my surprise, when seated the hostess presented the menu and a Happy Birthday card, signed by most all of the staff working today. With a warm welcome and a happy birthday, this experience was off to a great start. My server was also so friendly and made sure I was treated well. The food was hot and delicious. It even looked like the advertising photo! The manager was busy expediting and also doing table touches. (A+ for Staff, Food, Atmosphere and Manager Presence) I highly recommend Firebirds across the country and I thoroughly enjoyed my first visit to this Murfreesboro location.

Weird combination! Narrow structured space (The old Maple Street Grill) has a new vibe! The big screen TVs lining the walls shout sports bar. The weird pop music from famous Y2K girl bands plus lighting that is just "off" makes one wonder - "What am I in for??" The waitress we had was pleasant and seemed new. When I asked about wine by the bottle she had to ask someone else. It isn't listed on the menu. We did find out that we could purchase a bottle but a chiller was not provided - it did get a bit warm. The grilling your own food experience is fun and certainly adds to the dining experience. We hit serious issues when we simply could not get more rice! Sounds bizarre but it was a bummer! Our food had some "kick" to it so the rice would help with the neutralizing of the spice. After numerous request for additional rice I simply took matters into my own hands and asked someone behind the bar. We did enjoy the food and the perceived value. Service and atmosphere can hopefully benefit from the mandatory group meetings.
