Leonard Wilfred Davies, born 19 December 1906, started a butcher's dynasty now four generations old. His butchers typical cheeky sense of humour now lives on through his grandchildren along with his knowledge of butchery. In 1997 Leonard’s grandson Richard opened The Station Inn, which quickly generated a great reputation for quality steak. With Richard’s son, Ben’s passion and expertise as Head Chef and Butcher, The Station’s dining experience is a true reflection of the families deep passion for serving amazing steak.20 years on from opening The Station a major upgrade has taken place, which at its core aims to celebrate the families heritage and knowledge of meat. In order to identify your exact preferences the chefs help you choose the best cut of beef to cook for dinner. It makes for an unforgettable ‘butchery and dining’ experience.

Very good attentive service throughout. We had coffee by the roaring open fire in very comfortable seating area. The bright and vibrant dining room was lovely and our meal was delicious. Three courses for lunch, as well as sandwich options too. I've frequently been for lunch and will always come back as it is good service, delicious food and in beautiful surroundings. Thank you!

Persuaded husband to take me for Sunday lunch to give me a break from cooking Our table was reserved and reception friendly. We were just going to have mains as elderly so not so big portions any more, but we saw small plate option on the menu which was perfect for us. So ordered starters, mushrooms and whitebait, which were very good. Big portion of whitebait. Mains were good and service very good and friendly. We will definitely return.

An excellent Christmas day menu, lovely food and good service. I attended with my 93 year old mum and disabled brother, who both told me they really enjoyed their experience. We have used the restaurant several times before, usually for larger family get togethers. Always good and we will continue to use. Recommended for any occasion.
