At Bivio our passion is authentic Neapolitan pizza. Napoli... our love of the city, its cuisine, and in particular, its pizza is where our story began. We heard time and time again “It’s all about the dough.” True to Neapolitan tradition, and the passion of the pizzaioli, we construct our pizza using “00” flour from Naples, San Marzano DOP tomatoes, extra virgin olive oil, fresh basil, fior di latte or bufala mozzarella, and sea salt. Our dough is gently mixed using a 28 year old “lieveto madre” (natural yeast culture) then with intense heat is baked in our wood burning il forno.     Married to an Italian who missed grandma’s feast of the seven fishes. Finally found a restaurant close to home that served it on Christmas Eve and it did not disappoint! 10/10 absolutely amazing! While a 3 hour dinner isn’t for everyone, it’s truly an experience! Service was outstanding, food was incredible, overall fantastic! Will definitely be back before next Christmas. Sarah was perfect! And the 2 managers we interacted with (by choice to share the positive) were so hospitable. Great job by all!

    Took mom for her birthday dinner and she loved everything. From salad course to entree to the noise level, she was impressed. Raved about the food. Bacon wrapped scallops were very good and the fish soup with shrimp and clams were my personal favorites. Mom had carrot cake for dessert and loved it too! Come here for an intimate setting. Good date spot after an event in downtown Newark.

    Really nice restaurant, love the decor and overall atmosphere. All servers were absolutely lovely and attentive. They brought a complimentary little cheese and olive plate- with the most delicious marinated eggplant. We started with the Candian bacon which was delicious. I ordered the Land and Sea and a side of frizzled cauliflower. I have seen that other people didn't find the Land and Sea portion to be large enough, but I was quite satisfied and had to bring some of my filet home. It comes over a small bed of deliciously sautéed spinach, mashed potatoes and some zucchini. This was enough that I definitely didn't have to order an accompaniment, but the frizzled cauliflower is yummy and I have more of it to eat today :) My husband had the ribeye which he enjoyed and was a generous size (he also brought some home). He ordered a side of mashed potatoes which was was a good portion of two scoops. Too stuffed for dessert! I do recommend this restaurant and while steakhouses are always pricey, this is definitely more reasonable than any NYC steak restaurant. We will be back!
