Dining at Ella’s is always a wonderful experience. The menu is highly original and creative, putting fresh, in-season, local ingredients to use for best effect. Service is perfect: cordial and attentive without becoming cloying or oppressive. In many restaurants, noise drives me nuts. Ella’s carpeted floor helps keep the level down. We’ll be back for our anniversary dinner!

Wonderful dinner for 4! Two ordered spaghetti and meatballs, and both proclaimed them to be the best meatballs ever. Another had the sausage and rigatoni and I order the evening’s special of salmon with artichokes and spinach risotto. I was the only one who left a single bite on my plate unfinished. Everyone else left nothing, it was that good. I usually order the salad and meatballs for my meal here, but this was a nice departure. We will be back, again and again. It’s our favorite restaurant in the area, including Mystic.

Staff, ambience, food and wine were all 5 star. Nothing was bad. Cant wait to go back.

Note: for the tasting menu everyone at the table needs to do the tasting menu. I am not as ambitious as my husband when it comes to food so we ordered from the menu. I had the pasta which was beet gnocchi with squash it was very good, light which is hard to accomplish with gnocchi. He had the duck which he said was the best duck he ever had. Salad was more than enough for 2 people, toffee pudding was delicious especially with the extra caramel sauce.

The Wednesday suppers are incredible. Both times have presented delicious options for this set price three-course meals with a glass of wine. The options are diverse...this last time the shrimp appetizer could have been a main course at other venues and the pork chop done to perfection. Every item was the appropriate temp and we'll seasoned. It's a great way to visit a really special venue!!
