Restaurants near South Square Shopping Center

I’m rating this as a family with young kids. I’ve dined previously for date night, girls night and work parties (all great experiences). I have a 10,8 and 7 year old. My two oldest are more sophisticated eaters and usually end up wanting something off adult menus and making my wallet cry. Coopers Hawk is nice because they offer kids sized portions of steak or salmon but also the traditional kid items. The kids price for the nicer items are more than $15, but definitely not as expensive as the adult pricing. Kids totally loved it and wiped their plates clean. There were not many families with young kids there, but I felt like it was definitely kid appropriate. A lot of “nicer” restaurants don’t have kids menus or a coloring sheet, so it was nice to see Coopers Hawk offered that.

We eat here at least once a month especially during performances at the Straz. We had Mark as our server yesterday and he did a great job. I have not had the chicken breast dish in quite a while so tried it again. The risotto was perfectly cooked as was the garlic spinach (it’s not good when it’s overcooked and flabby). The chicken portion was perfect and the sauce kept it juicy. Can’t forget the key lime stack dessert! Yum!😋

Did not care for the $10pp for making a reservation upfront. Entertainment was great.

All of the food was great with the exception of snow crab. They would not come out of the shell..and I am an expert at getting them out.The shells were not crisp..kind of flexible and would not crack..just collapsed, and the meat came out in strands. I did not say anything as we were with good friends and did not want to ruin the meal experience for everyone else. This is the 1st time the crab legs have not been excellent at Red Lobster...so I would definitely go there again.

Great service and food. Waitress was excellent food was delicious as well as hot when serverd
