- EEllisSeattle / Eastern Washington •12 reviews5.0Dined todayJanken was such an incredible experience. The atmosphere was incredible, the service was excellent, and above all, the food was amazing. I can say with certainty that I've never had better sushi. The quality of ingredients, the unique elements and the taste of everything was beyond any other sushi I've had before. The dynamite roll and the seared salmon nagiri were incredible. The cocktails were amazing, the tartare was amazing, frankly everything was amazing. But the stand out was most certainly the black cod. I'm used to cod being a fairly common, mediocre fish. But this dish was, in a word, sublime. A tremendous bomb of umami flavor, and yet as delicate and pleasing as any high quality halibut. My wife and I were beyond impressed, and this is now in my top 3 restaurants of all time. We will be back.More infoJankenPrice: Very Expensive• Creative Japanese• Pearl District•4.8
- AAustinPortland / Oregon •2 reviews5.0Dined 2 days agoNostrana is an (almost) hidden Portland treasure! The space and ambiance is warm yet epic, the entire staff seems to be operating on another level from other fine dining restaurants in Portland; they're engaged, friendly, warm, and yet professional and perfectionistic in the best possible ways. The food, all of it, was super-fresh and really special. Might have something to do with them having their own chef's garden right across the street. I can't recommend this place highly enough.More infoNostranaPrice: Expensive• Italian• SE Portland•4.7

- SSarahPortland / Oregon •1 review5.0Dined 4 days agoWe came here to celebrate my dad’s birthday. We had a good table with a decent view of the city. Our first waitress wasn’t so kind but that didn’t bother us. We noticed a window seat open up and it had been about 30 mins so I asked the host if we could move and she said “ YES!”. After that the evening got even better. Our waitress was fun and so kind! The view was absolutely amazing and the Christmas parade ships were out! We had great food, great service and wonderful experience!More infoPortland City GrillPrice: Expensive• Seafood• Downtown•4.5

We also sat at the counter and watched the chefs, which was incredible. Truly one of the best restaurant experiences we’ve ever had and we will definitely be returning to try all of the foods that we didn’t get to try. Highly recommend the crispy lamb hummus with pita and spiced carrots dishes. Falafel and grilled octopus dishes were also delicious!More infoMediterranean Exploration CompanyPrice: Expensive• Mediterranean• NW Portland•4.8
