We celebrated my mom’s 65th birthday there and it was the most amazing dining experience. It was perfect. The Chef came out and had a really wonderful conversation with us which made it so personal. Food and service definitely unmatched.

Dined early on a Saturday evening. Rooftop on the Alma Hotel’s 7th floor. Absolutely everything we had was wonderful: Salmon Carpaccio, very very light & crispy calamari, Brussels sprouts (husb declared they were the best he’d ever had—and I agree) and Buratta with Papaya. We enjoyed every plate and left nothing! Service was pleasant and impeccable. Views are stunning.

Incredibly we managed to make a reservation for the same day, almost impossible for 5 people. It was our first time visiting El Asador. The place is cozy. Our table was in a room with a balcony facing the alley that made us feel welcome. Natalia was the person who attended to us and was full of attention to us. The exquisite food, Shrimp in Garlic Sauce, Ceviche, Churrasco, Lobster Risotto, Coconut Mojito among many delights. The cook is very friendly and can even sing while cooking. Highly recommended. Make your reservation in time so you don't miss the experience.

Great experience overall. Tasty dishes, excellent cocktails (we happened to arrive during happy hour, which is generously from 3-7pm!) and excellent service - shout out to our waiter, Chris!! Definitely a great spot if you’re visiting San Juan!
