In 1998, Buddy Guindon, his wife Katie, and his brother Kenny opened Katie's Seafood Market in Galveston, Texas. For more than 20 years now, Katie's Seafood Market has provided the highest quality of products available to its customers. The majority of seafood comes from local fishermen and shrimpers, including Red Snapper, Grouper, Golden Tile Fish, Flounder, Oysters, Shrimp, and Blue Crabs. A producer contacted Guindon in the hopes of doing a reality show about his family business. In 2015, the reality show 'Big Fish Texas' came to life on National Geographic. As a supporter of the local economy, In September of 2019, Buddy opened Katie’s Seafood House, next to the market. Katie’s seafood market supplies the restaurant with all fresh seafood. The food was fantastic—really fresh and an overall great experience. However, I wish they hadn’t begun cleaning and closing the restaurant two hours before closing time. It made us feel rushed during our meal, especially when they started sweeping under our tables. Despite this minor inconvenience, I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and will definitely be returning.

Landry’s never fails to be a staple of Galveston’s dining scene, and tonight was no exception. The service was impeccable. Felipe, our server, was friendly and helpful during the entire dining experience. The food was excellent. The chef’s course pairings are very reasonably priced relative to the portion sizes and quality of the food served . I highly recommend the crab and shrimp tortellini.
