Las Campanas offers a "beautiful outdoor ambiance" perfect for celebrating special occasions. While the "service is outstanding" and the drinks, particularly the margaritas, are "fantastic," food reviews are mixed, with some dishes described as "delicious" and others lacking flavor. Well, for starters…I made this reservations in early October. My original reservation was for 4:45pm. The hotel staff called me late October to tell me that they need to push back my reservation a little bit due to opening night festivities. My time got changed to 7:30pm. I called to ask for another earlier time. The best they could do was 7:15. The hotel would not let us inside to check in until 30 minutes before appointment time. We were finally seated at 7:45pm. Food was delayed due to bad hotel/restaurant planning. We finally ate at 8:45pm. Our waiter was great. He had a positive attitude and felt bad for the long delays. The food came out cold…wasn’t the best. My wife and I didn’t want to complain. We were hungry and just wanted to get out of there. Overall…this was bad planning by the hotel/restaurant. They should have planned better for a busy night. Very disorganized. It seemed like it was the first year they had opening night at the hotel. Will not return!

I was excited to try this restaurant, but unfortunately, it didn’t live up to expectations. It took over 25 minutes for a server to greet us, and the service remained slow throughout the meal. The food also took longer than expected to arrive. I ordered the steak fajitas, but they weren’t what I hoped for. The steak was tough and didn’t even resemble steak. I ended up sending it back, which is something I almost never do. Overall, it wasn’t the experience I was looking for. I really wanted to like this place, but it let me down.

Surprisingly, service was VERY slow tonight, without a lot of explanation. It took almost an hour to get our food. The server did not check in regularly, or offer any explanation for the delays.

The portions were small and the food was not hot. It was mediocre Mexican food at best. The only item I would recommend is the guacamole made tableside. Definitely overpriced

I was so excited to be dining at the Mission Inn after many years away. Los Campanas has always been a favorite when we are in the area. Unfortunately, we received horrible service. We were seated on time but not greeted by a server. Water, chips and salsa were delivered relatively quickly, but no server. After we completly finished our water, chips and salsa, the bus boy returned asking if we’d like another round. We told him yes, but that we would also like a server. Going on 20 minutes at this point. He was surprised that no one had been by. About five minutes later a server approached, asking if he could help us “for now”. We placed our food and drink order. At this point, I noticed that many tables seem to have been left stranded with no service. My margarita came out at the same time as our meal (all being delivered by different people with no regular server to be found). I ordered a second margarita from a random server that was walking by. Margarita came out about 10 minutes later and it tasted different than the first one even though I ordered the same kind. Thankfully food was good as everything else was so disappointing. No one bothered to ask how our meal was or check in to see if the drinks were OK. First time in a long time that I have tipped under 20%. As a former restaurant employee, I could never leave zero tip, but let me just tell you I wanted to! Bummer.

The food was great as always (the Birria was a bit too spicy). The drinks were excellent (our waiter convinced us to upgrade our tequila to Don Julio). My one annoyance was that our table had seven guests and we were provided with 2 baskets of chips with salsa; but when we ordered the table side guacamole, we did not receive additional chips. When we asked for another basket of chips, we were advised by our waiter that there would be an additional charge of $5.00.
