The quality of the food buffet and the overall experience were a let down. It is not the same as it was in years goneby. The selections were of poor quailty. The buffet spoke of 'saving money'. For the price it was terrible. In all likelihood we will not spend this kind of money for such a disappointing buffet.

We enjoyed an absolutely beautiful Christmas dinner at Laurel Court. Highlights included the live Christmas jazz trio that so beautifully captured the mood of the families celebrating together, awesome dessert selection (wow!), and huge, artful charcuterie and vegetable displays. We loved the assortment of dim sum favorites, and the carving stations, along with yummy salads, breads, soups (lobster bisque!), and other side dishes. We appreciated the family-friendly menu as well, with the table of children's favorites, which were a big hit with our 5 year old and 1 year old. The staff were so friendly and helpful, and everything was first class. After our dinner, we visited the Fairmont Gingerbread House, and took in the gorgeous Christmas decor of the hotel. Altogether it was an excellent Christmas day, and we thank all the staff at the Fairmont who worked on the holiday to give us this magical experience. Thank you!

The ambiance was really nice, especially with all of the Christmas decorations and the live music. The food was just ok unfortunately. Not a lot of vegan options and only some dishes were labeled with dietary restrictions. I thought the food could have been more creative and festive for Christmas, especially considering the cost of the buffet per person. The food selection could have been for any random day, not specifically for Christmas. I also thought there would be more food options than there were. The champagne was nice but the coffee was also just ok.

The Christmas Eve Buffet at Laurel Court was totally unacceptable, especially for the outrageous price of $165 plus gratuity per person. The food was cold and flavorless. My slices of prime rib weren't carved for me--they were thin and lying on a cutting board. None of the traditional sides were available such as Yorkshire pudding, mashed potatoes or baked potatoes. Even the horseradish sauce was just sour cream with only the faintest taste of horseradish. Arrangements of the food stations was nonsensical and inconvenient and the waiter could not offer any information about the setup. The carving station for meat was on one side of the room and the station for limited potatoes and vegetables as side dishes was as far away as possible on the other side of the room, beyond the desserts and starters. Instead of pleasant Christmas music from the grand piano there was a constant pounding from bass and drums. I am totally frustrated and upset that what should have been a beautiful holiday experience was so totally awful and unsatisfying. The Laurel Court should be ashamed. I will never consider it again.

I booked the gingerbread house for Christmas Eve dinner and it wasn’t that great. The service was good but it seemed like they were overwhelmed. The food was not very good and we waited quite a bit of time waiting for food. We spent quite a bit on on food 2k and it was too much for that kind of experience I would not do it again. Also although we stayed in a suite and breakfast was included the hostess was trying to make us wait and was giving preference to people with reservations Overall not good. Selections for breakfast was just ok

It was good to experience and check off the bucket list. The piano was lovely, but the tea didn’t feel like high tea, just a tea in the restaurant. The sandwiches are extremely small/miniature and just ok. The tax ($38) on top of the bill and $60 on gratuity (while we spent most of the time waiting on the waiter) is in my opinion outrageous. That’s almost $100 just on those two bill items. I will be happily going back to more classical High Tea Rooms.

The Fairmont’s Gingerbread tea is slipping a bit - we’ve been coming for about 10 years, and we were disappointed this year in the rushed service, the scaled-back entertainment, and a new and stingy rule that only one glass of champagne is included in the price. The cost of this brunch is now quite exceeds the value received.

We reserved 7:30pm did not get seated till 8pm. It took long for server to come and serve us. He was so busy running around . Not his fault, I guessed they short handed. We weren’t given plates to share our salad and fries. I’m not sure if that’s how they usually go. Finally we got our food. I couldn’t eat my pasta. I tried the pasta is not fully cooked, supposed to have mushrooms, it was minimal. My husband ordered the chicken, he said it was dry, I tasted it and I agree. But the flavoring was good. I complained to the manager and took off the entrees from our bill. I have eaten at Tonga room before and that was a good experience. I wanted to try the Laurel Court this time. I would suggest not to go to Fairmont for dinner during the holidays. To chaotic. Short staffed!
