The location right on the beach is ideal, but the service was slow and the food was average. You pay for the location.

I came 2 years ago and couldn’t wait to return on this trip. The complimentary banana macadamia nut muffins are one of my favorite treats! I’ll definitely return!

If you visit Big Island or Kauai Lava Lava is a must. Lovely location on the sand, friendly and pleasant staff, good eats and fab drinks. A great place to kick back and relax a while.

Ordered pineapple rice bowl that comes with grilled chicken. Chicken came out under cooked and was taken away and asked for it to be well done and came back not as requested. Also ordered coconut shrimp as an add on and they give you three shrimp and want to charge you 11 dollars. Also asked for dipping sauce and was charged a dollar for that. I have never seen that. Manager never came over to apologize for the undercooked chicken. When asked to speak to him there was still no apology. Not impressed.

Great food - although fish dishes aren’t generally my favorites, the macadamia crusted opa was probablyas good a meal as I’ve ever had anywhere at any price!

Wir waren scheinbar etwas spät (für 20:30 hatten wir reserviert und waren pünktlich) Alles ging dann sehr schnell inclusive der unaufgefordert auf den Tisch gestellten Rechnung. Eigentlich hätten wir gerne noch was zu trinken bestellt - davon haben wir dann abgesehen. Wahrscheinlich sind wir mit den örtlichen Gepflogenheiten nicht vertraut. In Europa würde man sowas als unfreundlich ansehen. Das Essen und die Getränke waren gut.
