Lechon is a South American dining experience that seamlessly combines the fiery cooking of Argentina, Chile and Patagonia, along with creative inspiration of the chef. Enjoy perfectly charred 28-day dry-aged ribeye, grilled octopus with chorizo, housemade piquillo pepper and pork empanadas, slow roasted lechon, refreshing ceviches and smoked bone marrow.

Executive Chef Jaco Smith consistently pushes the boundaries on traditional Latin fare by incorporating wood-fired flavors into his cuisine while boasting a view of the Willamette River that few Portland restaurants can offer. Smith comes from a large family of cattle, sheep and grain farmers. He started cooking at a young age in his mother’s kitchen. His favorite childhood memories include the tastes of dulce de leche, flan and grilled breads, reminiscent of South American flavors and commonly found on South African kitchen tables.

When you book a reservation weeks in advance, do a better job of honoring requests as we asked for a booth. We hate the back of the restaurant, so had to sit at the bar. We saw you give a booth to tourists that checked in ahead of us. Hope you recognize locals tend to return more frequently. Also the Brandt Prime Beef Ribeye (over priced at $69 considering I don’t think we got 20 ounces as advertised) was served very COLD! If I wasn’t already pretty done with the experience at this point, ready to go, it should’ve been sent back as it was that bad.

Hey Craig, I pulled up your reservation for your visit with us on the 25th, it doesn't look like a booth was requested on that day, however when pulling up your reservation history it looks like a booth was requested for your visit March 16th. These requests do not carry over from one reservation to the next, but we went ahead and saved a permanent note on our end detailing your preferences. When seating you at your reserved table you indicated bar seating would be preferable, I apologize that that seating was not to your liking, we do what we can in our busy restaurant and reservations are never sat at the bar unless requested. As far as our Ribeye goes it is in fact 14oz as stated on the menu. Hopefully we can hit the mark next time, appreciate the feedback.

We haven’t been for awhile and Lechon was and is still one of the best restaurants and experiences. Food and drinks were amazing and service was 1000 percent worth going out and reminds you that old school good service while eating out still exists.

Aw, thanks so much Linda, it means a lot to us that you feel that way. Really appreciate the kind words 💕
