Los Angeles, home to Hollywood and world-famous beaches attract millions of visitors every year. Foodies will find lots to enjoy, too. Restaurants across the sprawling city serve every global cuisine imaginable, recreated with pristine California ingredients. When it comes to a beloved dish like chicken wings, LA chefs put their own original spin. But where do the savviest local foodies go when they're seeking the best wings in Los Angeles? We put together a Tastemaker list using data provided by OpenTable's most experienced diners, covering thousands of restaurants. About the restaurant
Pizzeria Mozza is the brainchild of renowned chef Nancy Silverton, founder of La Brea Bakery and the late LA institution Campanile Restaurant. Silverton’s obsessive quest to create the perfect pizza crust was detailed in an episode of the Netflix documentary “Chef’s Table.” Los Angeles locals and visitors get to feast on her remarkable, meticulously honed pizzas emerging from the wood-burning oven at Pizzeria Mozza. The menu offers 18 pizzas with mostly produce-forward toppings, plus substantial salads, salumi, bruschetta and a variety of antipasti. Don’t miss the chicken wings alla diavolo as the ideal preulde to any pizza. And try to save room for the famous butterscotch budino for dessert.

Beverly Hills
About the restaurant
The Rooftop by JG sits atop the iconic Waldorf Astoria hotel in Beverly Hills. Its setting 12 stories up– notably the largest rooftop restaurant in Beverly Hills – invites a sunny dining experience augmented by panoramic views. The all-day menu features a handful of main courses along with burgers and tacos, dedicating most of its space to shareables, salads and snacks. A highlight is an appetizer-sized portion of spicy Thai chicken wings with mango and mint. Other small plates reveal a similar embrace of tropical flavors that fits nicely with the al fresco venue. Among them are black pepper shrimp with sun dried pineapple and jicama, and Hamachi sashimi with fragrant coconut juice.

We had the Pecan Salmon, Tuna bowl, guacamole and black truffle fries….everything was excellent in taste, presentation and timely delivery. Drinks were great as well. Great evening overlooking the area and pleasant weather. Highly recommend. We’ll be back for sure.

Hermosa Beach
About the restaurant
Wing aficionados who like their chicken on the hot side will definitely want to order the extra spicy jerk wings with a sweet mango dipping sauce at Baran’s 2239. They star on an eclectic, tightly edited menu of small and full-size plates that might also include gnocchi nero with king crab, banh mi toast with steak tartare, and Indian egg with lamb sausage and curry jus. The Hermosa Beach neighborhood restaurant has enticements beyond its intriguing menu. Its venue off PCH has a homey, welcoming feel with rustic touches to its minimal decor. Regulars report super-friendly service and a pleasantly convivial vibe.

Brentwood
About the restaurant
Katsuya is now an international chain of restaurants, but the brand known for its trendy and innovative approach to sushi and other Japanese specialties is an icon of Los Angeles. Among seven L.A. locations, the Brentwood Kaysuya stands out for its interior design by Philippe Starck. Critics and a devoted crowd of regulars focus on the top-notch sushi, but don’t overlook the non-sushi sections of the comprehensive menu. Look for jidori chicken wings with a spiced tomato salsa along with more than a dozen other items under the robata grill section of the menu. Also consider signature creations like tuna on crispy rice and baked crab hand rolls.
