Robert Oakley wine dinner Food was excellent Tart tatin with black pudding was a revelation. Wines were very good as good as French Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon at a fraction of the price. A very enjoyable evening.

64 Goodge Street is a new restaurant from Woodhead Restaurant Group, which opened in early August 2023. A former travel agent in our beloved Fitzrovia (64’s older siblings Portland and Clipstone are just round the corner), we were hugely excited by the opportunity this blank slate of a site afforded us.

We’ve been able to build from the bottom up, and therefore design every inch of space to meet our hope for 64 Goodge Street. Namely, that it is a space in which guests feel utterly taken care of.

We are open Monday to Saturday for lunch and dinner. We very much hope to see you soon.

A perfect dining experience. The food was plate-lickingly good - the fallow deer was melt-in-the-mouth delicious, and the service was exceptional: intelligent, knowledgeable and charming. We felt totally at home and, in a city with a million restaurants to try, this is one we will come back to.

Great, authentic Spanish tapas bar. Tasty food and good atmosphere. We went after our Spanish class (definitely Beginners!!) and the native Spanish speaking staff allowed us to practice our rudimentary Spanish when ordering, helping out when needed. Muchos gracias! Ox cheeks, lamb parcels, octopus.....all very tasty.

Located in a Grade II listed building on Cloth Fair, Cloth Restaurant is part of a historic row of buildings in the City of London that survived the Great Fire of 1666. Down this atmospheric alley opposite St Bartholomew church, Cloth is taking over a double fronted corner site that’s beneath the former home of poet John Betjeman and next door to the two oldest residential buildings in London.

Chef Sebby Holmes launched Farang back in 2016 after trading at street food markets throughout London. A year later he took up temporary residency in Farang's current home in Highbury & Islington. The Harwood Arms re-opened in September 2008 after some much needed refurbishment.
This rural haven in the middle of Fulham is a collaboration between Brett Graham of the famed Ledbury restaurant, Mike Robinson of the acclaimed Pot Kiln pub in rural Berkshire and Edwin Vaux from the famous Vaux brewery.

This was a belated Anniversary meal as we have had a lot going on with Father in Law having a cancer related operation. The staff are all lovely but our main waiter was so intentive and made us both feel very special. His advice was perfect on quantity of meat and sides. Was always there topping up the wine and water. It was just what we both needed. A big thank you again.

Higher Ground is a bistro and bar located in Manchester city centre that focuses on seasonality within the UK using produce sourced from local suppliers and producers.

The restaurant is open Wed-Sat at dinner and Thurs-Sat lunch. From 14th November ’24, Higher Ground is opening on Thursday lunchtimes and is now open from 5pm on Wednesdays and Thursdays!

At lunch a £40pp seasonal sharing menu is offered alongside an à la carte menu. At dinner, both an à la carte and a seasonal sharing menu at £58pp are available. Both menus are available when sat at the kitchen bar counter.

We often hold space for walk-ins at the kitchen bar counter so pop by and have some plates and a glass of wine!

The Good Food Guide (2023) says: "A fittingly quaint old building, complete with original features, given a suave modern twist via grey panelling and contemporary furniture. Chef-proprietor Martin Peacock has built his menu on classical French traditions and impeccable sourcing and there’s real creativity and originality on show here. At Restaurant Story the premise is simple; we seek to tell our story through the food we serve.

We opened in April 2013 gaining our first Michelin star only five months after opening and in 2021 we were awarded our second Michelin star. Finally in 2023 we launched Story 3.0 hosting a 2nd floor.

Inspired by chef Tom Sellers’ culinary career and the history of British food, our dishes are an edible story, each one inspired by a memory. We want to share these memories with you through what you see, smell and taste.

To help achieve this, we select only the freshest seasonal British produce and then pair it with an exclusive wine list featuring small wine producers and select British craft ales sourced locally.

Restaurant Story is a casually elegant venue, with a first class dining experience in comfortable surroundings, hosted by a friendly and informative team. They serve a surprise menu and we loved it all. The talented kichen team create incredibly good flavour combinations in every dish, with our sommelier delivering interesting and well suited wine and cocktail pairings. It was impossible to choose a favourite dish, they are all superb. Meticulous attention to detail, with alternative dishes provided to cater for allergies. Loved every moment! They have recently added a beautiful private dining room upstairs to accommodate up to 18 diners. The venue is conveniently close to London Bridge rail station.

Very hearty food. The slab of ham in a cheese and egg sauce feeds you for the day when taken with the house bread. And that's a starter! The salt cod croquta is a fishcake they should call it that. Staff are focussed on their jobs but brighten up as soon as you ask for anything. Cask ale is good but there's a couple of vocation kegs on too. Can't wait to go back and try more of the menu, perhaps the lighter dishes so I can have more.

This is a favourite restaurant for a reason... the consistency of the quality food and service is always high. Once again I enjoyed a near perfect fillet steak, though the fries are not quite as good as the previous triple cooked chips. The red wines available by the glass has been extended with a welcome return of an Argentinian Malbec. I don't often do Christmas pudding but this was as good as it gets. My dining companions lavished equal praise for their seperate lamb and monkfish dishes. Don't tell anyone, but this place is a gem!

It can be loud and slightly chaotic; at night it is dark. Great food, great service. I’ve been in plimsoll before because their burger. I couldn’t come back with some friends to let them try it too. We got 5 burgers but at the end we ordered 3 more with extra cheese and at the end they were even better. My friend was looking for bacon but for me the crunchiness of meat was enough. Very good balance of flavours. I tried many burgers but probably this is the best in London. I was a bit sad realising they removed the green salad with walnuts from the menu cuz it was really good but I understand can be because the seasonal changes etc. Another must to try are the potatoes with aioli. We also got other dishes but I would say these 2 were the best. The pub was full but the service was fast. The kitchen is not big but they are very organised. Same with table service, we had some requests and the blonde girl who served us was really nice and patient haha I forgot to asked her name for the mention Overall a great experience! Thank you guys!

We suggest bookings, but do take walk-ins.

Trivet derives from the age-old cooking utensil - an iron tripod placed over fire to support a cooking pot or kettle - reflecting the warmth and balance which forms Head Chef Jonny Lake and Master Sommelier Isa Bal’s values for the restaurant, as well as their working relationship.

From the very beginning of the creative process, Jonny, Isa and the team think about how food and drink work together. The menu features their explorations of ingredients, dishes and drinks from around the world, inspired by the culinary history and diversity around us. The wine list is set out chronologically, following the historic beginnings of wine to present day, with over 350 wines from classic producers to the New World, as well as acknowledging the root of viti-vinoculture with wines from Georgia, Armenia and Turkey.

As well as the welcoming main dining room, Trivet has a terrace, wine bar and private dining space. Monday nights transform into the LaBombe Wine Bar.

Very tasty and well-presented food, but glad we didn’t order as much as we were advised we would need. All served at good intervals and there was no rush on the return of the table. We all agreed the wine was very expensive so we chose the house white, which was disappointingly thin and served from an unmarked and open bottle. (Needs to be more choice at the under £50 a bottle end!)
