This was our first time dining at Ambar and we thought it was amazing. Everything was perfect from the food, to the speed and attention to detail with the service to the overall restaurant experience. My father in law is very stubborn and does not like anything "different" and I was beyond excited to see how much he loved this restaurant! My 8yo also loved getting to take a bite and dry all of the different dishes. So happy to have experienced this restaurant.

Chaplin's Executive Chef and Partner, Myo Htun, is originally from Burma, but was cooking ramen in Japan at a young age. Myo received a blessing from his mentor in Japan after nearly 30 years of cooking in Japan, to come to America and continue to showcase his authentic Ramen and traditional Japanese cuisine. Chaplin's Restaurant demonstrates the aesthetic of a bustling ramen house in Japan in the 1930's silent film era. There is also a large outdoor dining area that is dog friendly. I’m so impressed with this quiet little gem of a restaurant! This was my and my husband’s second time having Ethiopian food, and our first was 25 years ago. Das is located on a side street in Georgetown, with a great view of M st. The food is absolutely delicious! We started with the shrimp tibs, I had the veg sampler and hubs had chicken infillay. Service was impeccable, vibes elegant, and the whole experience was perfection. A must do!

We had such an enjoyable Christmas Eve dinner experience at La Bise. The restaurant decor and ambience was cozy yet artsy. Went for the 4 course Christmas Lunch based on the menu posted online (lots of seafood). We were happy that we landed on The Pembroke! Started with cocktails from the holiday menu - a mescal & a bourbon drink. Yummy. Raw & charcuterie bar was next. The stone crabs were a bit hard to manage because we didn't have crackers or lobster forks, but we made it work. Appetizers consisted of seared scallop (minus bacon) & lobster bisque, both of which were done to perfection. Entree was turbot, which was also cooked to perfection & the accompanying clams were the highlight for me. Dessert was ok, but the weakness of the meal - I had sorbet & my friend had Mont Blanc, which was definitely different than the usual format. I did like the addition of coffee ice cream on it - definitely the highlight of the dessert. Staff was very friendly & knowledgeable. Our server, Daniel, was extra attentive, but everyone chipped in to assist. Would definitely go back for a special occasion! Thank you for making Christmas a unique experience!
