   I’ve dined at Mahina and Sons twice in the past six months, and while the food is consistently amazing, my experience with trying to use OpenTable dining rewards has been frustrating. Both times, I was met with an "Authorization Failed - No Reason Given" error when attempting to redeem my reward. I even have a photo as proof. When I asked for a manager, I was told the issue was on my end and that I needed to contact OpenTable. Unfortunately, this happened on a Sunday night when OpenTable support wasn’t available. Despite explaining that this was the second time I encountered the same issue, the manager took no responsibility and showed little interest in resolving it from their side. Instead, they offered us shots as a consolation, which we politely declined. While I highly recommend the food, I would not suggest trying to use your dining rewards here—it simply doesn’t work, and management is unwilling to assist. Hopefully, this issue gets addressed in the future!

   Everyone was very personable. The musical artist was incredible. Host was great. Service was very slow. Which was not a big deal because the music was so fantastic. Acoustic folkish music. The steak was definitely subpar, would never order that again. But we love the ambience, the overall vibe and the people her. Very unique, one of a kind spot. Perfect if you are not in a rush!

   Wonderful meal of seared ahi and kale Caesar salad. The vegetables served under the ahi were cooked perfectly. Friendly and fast waitress. Sat in the bar area overlooking the pool and listening to the talented musician. Beautiful night. We usually try to go for ocean view dining in Waikiki but pool view and music and great food and service made it our best meal in Waikiki this trip.

   Arrived early and good thing too. Seems the valet parking is no longer available. Found street parking 2 blocks down. Seated within seconds with a clear view of the live entertainment. Great music. Placed our orders and everything went smooth. Salad was delicious and were the entrees. My bolognese was fantastic although I found the portion smaller than I’d expected. Gf’s seared ahi was perfect. Finished off with a shared banana pudding. Overall we enjoyed the food and music. Will definitely return here.

   We were welcomed warmly by the friendly host and seated at a table overlooking the pool. (We had reservations.) We absolutely loved the cavatappi Bolognese and the Margherita pizza with added mushrooms, and the service was excellent from start to finish. The live music by Dustin Park made our meal especially enjoyable. Our server told us about the live music they have every evening, and we really appreciated his recommendations. We will be back!

    Came in with 4 adults and 2 kids and had a great experience with live music and delicious food. Service was excellent and the vibes of the hotel are awesome!
