Taking place the first week of March every year, the Charleston Wine + Food festival is one of the most revered culinary events in the country. This marks the 16th edition of the legendary fest, which runs from March 2-6 and features more than 200 of the hottest bar stars and top chefs in the South and beyond. It’s an epic, all-out affair that rivals others for its energy and intensity. Here are some of the Charleston restaurants involved with this year's festival:

Brasserie la Banque is a neighborhood French restaurant nestled in historic downtown Charleston, SC. Paying homage to traditional French cuisine in a lively and welcoming environment, Brasserie la Banque celebrates life's memorable moments from impromptu drinks to convivial gatherings and leisurely meals. Led by owner and industry veteran Steve Palmer of Indigo Road Hospitality Group, the restaurant is a culmination of Palmer's work and his passion for the classic French brasserie and its cuisine. The menu features a selection of traditional French dishes alongside more innovative fare. Aptly named for its previous role as a city bank, Brasserie la Banque is located within the iconic 1 Broad Street corner building that dates back to the 1700s.

We had a lovely experience for our anniversary dinner here. Staff were friendly and accommodating. They had a cute sign on our table with happy anniversary on it. Overall, the food was very good. We enjoyed our apps and our dinner selections. We got the apple tarte tatin for dessert, and were disappointed. It was served ice cold, the apples weren’t caramelized, and the crust was hard. The waitress was apologetic, but said that is how they serve it there. They did take it off the bill, even though we asked them not too, as we were going to bring it home and put it in the oven. Overall, a nice evening. We will likely return.

Very nice spot… Old Church vibe, with a bit of civil war nostalgia. We enjoyed the fried chicken and southern salad. Chicken was crispy n moist, but… $30.00 for 1/2 chicken? Some pickles and cornbread, but no sides? Salad was fresh and flavorful. Our server was very distracted, and likely wished we had gone somewhere else? Don’t think we would return. Too many other spots for great food and service in this lovely city!! YMMV

Delicious food. Expensive cocktails. Don’t ask for a name vodka in a mixed drink, it means a $4 extra charge leaving a cosmo at $20! Chefs specials were very good, creative and super yummy.

Located on Charleston's Upper King Street, Indaco (Italian for "indigo") serves rustic Italian cuisine. Wood-fired pizzas, hand-crafted pastas, housemade salami and cured sausages fill the restaurant's menu which can be enjoyed family-style or a la carte. With community tables, an open kitchen, and a comfortable atmosphere, Indaco can accommodate 100 guests for a casual night of food and drinks. The wine list is focused on affordable Italian varietals, the Negroni cocktail is on tap, and the fresh sodas are made in-house. The massive wooden doors on Upper King Street are your first indication that Indaco is different from the typical Charleston restaurant. Rustic details continue inside with butcherblock tables, lime-wash walls, and white brick. An open kitchen with nearby community tables lets interested diners keep an eye on the action inside the kitchen. Outside, a patio puts you streetside to watch Upper King Street's vibrant nightlife scene.

The focaccia was so good. We will make it with the ricotta and apple butter at home. The pastas were really good as well.

This was a casual anniversary dinner. The service was fantastic, our food choice was spot-on and the price was fair. Thanks for the complimentary champagne. It was a pleasant surprise. We will return for a visit when we are next in Charleston.

Travis and Ryan Croxton debut their spinoff from the highly acclaimed Rappahannock Oyster Bar at Union Market in Washington, DC. They’ve even brought their DC Chef, Kevin Kelly, to man the kitchen at this outpost. This location in the historic Cigar Factory Building on East Bay Street, allows room for Chef Kelly to showcase more of his cuisine to a larger audience, including an incredibly unique 40 seat raw bar. Oysters grown by the Croxton’s own Rappahannock Oyster Company are accentuated, but Kelly’s signature dishes like lambs’n’clams, crabcakes, shrimp & grits and the best po’ boy you’ll ever eat are enough reasons in their own right for constant visits. Coupled with a great cocktail program and focus on local ingredients, ROB is a great place for any occasion.

Out of town colleagues and I had a wonderful dinner. Local fish of the day was a black grouper and it was delicious, fresh, and had a nice presentation. Another had the shrimp and grits. Biggest serving I’ve ever seen of that dish in this town. We started with raw oysters and they were on point! Decent wine list and our server,Joe, was fantastic. Don’t sleep on Rappahannock.

This was a final stop for a small, private culinary tour through my company, Experience Moore Tours. I love ending at Tempest for dessert. The mosaic, done by Honey, a local artist, is outstanding. The desserts are unique and elevated and the cocktail of the week: The Language Barrier, was incredible. The service is always amazing. Thank you!

This was our first time here and it did not disappoint. Food was fantastic and a window table allowed us to look at the ocean while dinning. Will definitely be coming back
