   We've eaten here a few times because the place is charming and the menu food and prices are great. However , This seemed to be a off night. The crab soup was promised to have chunks of lump crab in it. There were only shreds. The trout almondine was very dry. However, the shrimp provencal was excellent. The service was excellent as well. We will go back.

   Service was very slow considering the restaurant was fairly empty. Food was just ok for the price. Got the lamb special and was lacking seasoning.

   Food and service were wonderful. Quite relaxed yet perfect for a pre-theater dinner. We arrived at 5:15 and were out by 7 o’clock (no dessert) for a 7:30 show at Center Stage. The ambience is authentic. Gave it 4 for value as salads and appetizers were a bit pricey, and there was a surcharge for bread, which was delicious. The entrées were fairly priced. Would go back again when in Baltimore for a play. Might even go to Baltimore from Columbia just for the food, as it was that lovely.

   We went on Valentines night and things were wild to say the least. They seemed to have overbooked. We were also sad to see a shortened menu after confirming the full menu would be available the day before. These things happen, we definitely want to return on a night that is more on the norm! The staff was great given the chaos of the night. French onion soup was great of course, the cocktails were 5/5. The steak frites felt overpriced, but it could have been due to shortened menu.

   I went on Valentine’s Day so that’s why I have it the ambience lower and the sound rating but I would 100% recommend this place to anyone I know and would easily go back myself the staff were very nice the decor was lovely and someone even with all the noise and fuss since they seemed to be quite overbooked for the holiday weren’t able to make it as though we were still kind of on your own you were able to feel like you could talk freely and you didn’t really hear the conversations of tables around and it was still somewhat intimate between you and your date or party. One of the best meals I have ever had since living in the Baltimore area that didn’t break the bank.

   Not good. Will never return. Would’ve gotten better service from Helen Keller. Food tasted like it was from the Chum Bucket. Drinks were strong though.

   It was Valentine’s Day. We arrived for. 5 pm reservation and was seated upstairs. It was pretty quiet when we arrived. The waiter started out great, but he was also the upstairs bartender. Items came slowly and some never arrived. The manager finally came over and helped. The food was fantastic. The service? Not so much. I’ll go again to see if anything changes.

    We love Marie Louise and make the trek from Towson a couple of times a year. Always good!
