Matteo’s Osteria is impossibly wonderful from the host to the waitstaff and everyone in-between. Best Italian on Maui. All pasta made fresh in-house and all wonderful. This evening we had the lasagna and a special of Chicken Parmesan. Both are not to be missed. The lasagna was piping hot and full of the most amazing blend of meat, cheese, tomato’s and noodles. The chicken Parmesan was amazing. The chicken was a large breast, not pounded too thin, flavorful and accompanied by a twisted pasta and tomato sauce that was impressively flavorful. The bread basket, which is complimentary, was full of focaccia and Italian bread and served with an olive oil/basalmic combo. I cannot say enough though about the spectacular service. It’s a beautiful room with friendly faces ready to make sure you have a perfect evening. Which I did!

Mike our server was AMAZING!!! Very attentive as well as other staff members of Matteo's. Had the Butternut Squash Ravioli and it was the BEST ravioli I have ever had! The homemade past makes all the difference and the amount of butternut squash they put in the ravioli is a good portion and did not make the ravioli soggy at all. Also had the Fettuccine Frutti Di Mare and let me just say "chef's kiss" this dish was also outstanding, the bounty of the ocean is showcased with crab, shrimp, and clams. The flavor profiles were wonderful and I can see why they do not put salt/pepper on the tables, you will not need it for any of the food at Matteo's because the luxurious seafood infused sauce, light yet decadent, where the brine of the ocean meets the richness of culinary precision. What sets this sea food dish apart from others is the balance with enough richness to dance on the palate without overpowering the sea's natural sweetness. The presentation is as elegant as it's flavors. The plating is minimalist yet thoughtful - a testament to the chef's philosophy of letting quality ingredients shine. This dish transforms a simple plate of past into a profound culinary journey. It's not just a dish; its a love letter to the ocean and a triumph of Italian cuisine. This is a neighborhood gem and can see why he won Maui's Best Chef!!! If you want quality, fresh, food with exceptional service, go to Matteo's!

The Best Italian food on the island. The Isola (fresh catch) and the Carbonara are our favorite dishes! Fresh pasta makes a difference.

Excellent service! Ambiance was nice, not too loud but not awkwardly quiet either. Food was just okay for us. Bread that was brought was served room temperature (not sure if intentional or not). Got two pasta dishes and split a Caesar salad along with a cocktail and a glass of wine. The pasta was good but did not stand out to us. Still would recommend if you’re looking for a casual spot. However, for the pricing and what we got I don’t feel it was as valuable for us when comparing to other elevated Italian restaurant options; even those on the resorts.

We greatly enjoyed our dinner. The food is amazingly special and quite delicious! Welcoming staff and attentive server for sure! Impressed also that our water glasses never emptied! Speaks volumes for a staff who truly cares and aims to please!
