   Overall, we had a good experience dining at Michel's. Enjoyed the lavash and the salmon hors'dourve before our bisque. The butter was different with red specs, perhaps some type of pepper, but had not much flavor. The water service was excellent. The tropical island salad my son had looked delicious. My escargots were very good but tasted a little different from others I've had. My son wasn't impressed with his salmon which he shared with his wife who enjoyed it very much. My other son really enjoyed the lamb chops. Our chocolate soufflé was traditional French which I enjoyed but others were't overly impressed with it. The waiter brought my daughter in law a special birthday dessert which was to die for. Whipped cream, lemon curd and white chocolate with a lady finger and a strawberry and a raspberry. The service was excellent and the ladies room was all pink and very French and cute with fresh orchids, towels for drying hands and an impressionist painting in a separate area for freshening-up etc. Mary Courtheyn Boise, Idaho Dec. 18, 2024

   The food was absolutely delicious. We did the tasting menu. Most of the dishes were created at the table which added to the experience. I personally did not care for the wine pairing, but I am glad we tried it. It was my first time with that type of a meal. We truly enjoyed it and would definitely go back. We did go for dinner, so the sun was already down, so it was hard to see the water. I could see this place being amazing for breakfast.

   We can always rely on delicious food and very good service at Michele’s. Large groups celebrating the holiday season made the noise level higher than usual, but that should be temporary. It’s definitely a budget splurge to dine here, but a very nice experience for a special occasion.

   The ahi amuse bouche was good. The lobster bisque was good, but not as stellar as in the past. Probably due to the nature of the stock. The Caesar salad was excellent. The tournados Rossini was a bust. While the beef was properly cooked, it was not seasoned at all. The foie gras frais was overcooked and dried out. The blueberry sauce component made absolutely no sense from a taste balance standpoint. The Madeira sauce was pretty good. Also, the purée de pomme de terre was not properly seasoned. I had to obtain salt and pepper for the dish. The dessert was pretty good. Anyway, the prep of smoked Old Fashioned drinks polluted the air of the dining room (color this offensive). The loud thumping music from next door could be heard in the restaurant and was decidedly unpleasant. The meal was slow to start and slow to progress.

   Try to reserve a window table. Great view of beach and sunset. Food is excellent; service impeccable. Best lobster bisque on the planet.

   Michel’s consistently offers the highest high levels of service, quality, ambience & excellent culinary offerings combined with the very best, breathtaking setting on the Gold Coast of Oahu. Every member of the well trained staff makes diners feel as if they have returned home. We enjoyed a truly remarkable evening.

   Had a wonderful dining experience at Michel’s last night. Johnny, our waiter was so lovely to us too. The view was stunning with the sunset. Highly recommend and will definitely be back when we return to Waikiki
