Located in the vibrant neighbourhood of Yaletown, Minami follows the pioneering footsteps of its sister restaurant, Miku, in delivering the innovative dining experience of Aburi cuisine to Vancouver's thriving food scene. Each piece of sushi is flame-seared using a blowtorch and binchotan (oak charcoal), resulting in sushi with a smoky aroma and a melt-in-your-mouth texture.

    Great food and great service!! Our server Hana was so fun and helpful, thank you Hana! The food was all delicious, I recommend the hamachi crudo, the oshi sushi sampler, and the green tea opera dessert!

    Sister restaurant to Miku, which carries over its fantastic flavours and focus on excellent ingredients. We did the tasting menu. As usual the seafood was delicious. The portioning of the protein dishes, despite tasting great, was a little bit too small. The dessert was amazing - highly recommend venturing out of the classic green tea opera (which is also great) to try out their other options. The canoli and blueberry ice cream were standouts.

    This place was incredible! The service was fast and the food was great. Best service I’ve ever had. The staff are so helpful. If you get the server Kim then it is your lucky day. She is incredible. I honestly can’t describe how good that food was so I only have two words. Sushi. Yes

    Friendly and efficient service, not overdone. The bluefin tuna tartare was one of the best I ever had and the Yagu beef (suggest medium-rare) was an out-of-this-world experience

    One of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had at a restaurant. Food was excellent and service (Sue at bar) was outstanding. I highly recommend the Taste of Minami tasting menu.

    First time here, and the 4 of us unanimously agreed that it was a great experience! Everything was so fresh and tasty (however, to be honest the amuse bouche was a bit strange)! Will definitely come again though.

    Hadn’t been back in several years as last experience with food & service in particular was extremely poor. Glad gave them another chance - new management/chef - very happy & will def return!
